Patara is ancient lycia a city which settles down in territory of modern Turkey.
This largest port of Lycia has been based in V century BC and always involved pilgrims with a temple in honor of Apollo and the oracle. The temple has become famous for that apostle Pavel here preached and in Patare the emperor of Rome Adrian stopped. In due course the gulf has shoaled, and the city has become deserted and was ruined.
For today the location of a temple of Apollo isn't established, but the Roman triumphal arch, an agora and the Roman baths have remained. On the earths of antique Lycia there are three unique antique monuments embodying unity stories, religions and the nature.
